The “Homin” Choir, affiliated with the Lviv Organ Hall, concluded a successful tour in North America, where it collected over 6 million UAH for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. From 17 April to 9 May, the ensemble performed 18 concerts in 16 cities across the USA and Canada, including major cities such as New York and Chicago.
The choir’s performances included a programme of Ukrainian retro “This Choir, This Choir Comes to Me in My Dreams Every Night”, and an important part of each concert was supporting Ukrainian defenders. Tour organisers noted: “We sang Ukrainian retro songs together with Ukrainians in the USA and Canada, witnessed full halls, sincere tears, smiles, and felt how music unites Ukrainians even thousands of miles from home”.
The process of transferring funds to specific units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be published on the choir’s official Facebook and Instagram pages. Meanwhile, the second European tour of the “Homin” Choir, which includes a charitable component, is ongoing. Concerts in Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria and other European countries are forthcoming. A major national tour with a new programme will commence on 31 May.
The Municipal “Homin” Choir was founded in 1988 and over its more than 40-year history, it has won numerous national and international awards. Currently, the ensemble is part of the Lviv Organ Hall, with Vadym Yatsenko as its artistic director. The choir was featured in the soundtrack of the HBO series “Chernobyl” and in 2024 was recognised as the best choir in Ukraine by “Ukrinform”.
