In Lviv, one of the most significant international events in the field of culture took place — the conference “Cooperation for Resilience”. The event was attended by over 40 international delegations, 10 ministers of culture, representatives from UNESCO and other international institutions. The Ukrainian side was led by the Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy of Ukraine — Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna.
The conference began with a tribute to the Heroes at the Lychakiv Cemetery. Participants also familiarised themselves with the aftermath of the strike on Lviv on 24 March, particularly the damage at Soborna Square, where the ensemble of the Bernardine Monastery, part of the UNESCO World Heritage site, is located.
During the event, the importance of protecting Ukrainian culture, which is part of the shared European heritage, was emphasised. Participants had the opportunity to view the artworks of Taras Shevchenko at the Zenyk Art Gallery, which was a revelation for many.
According to Tetiana Berezhna, the conference facilitated the attraction of approximately 100 million hryvnias in international aid to support Ukrainian culture. Specifically, the Netherlands is providing 1 million euros, the United Kingdom — 250 thousand pounds, Luxembourg — 350 thousand euros, and UNESCO — 60 thousand dollars.
New members joined the Cultural Resilience Alliance: Luxembourg, Portugal, Flanders, Austria, and the Eastern Europe Foundation. A Memorandum with Spain on cooperation in the field of culture and restoration was also signed.
