For many years in a row, cross-border meetings of understanding and reconciliation have been held on the territory of the villages of Korchmyn (Poland, Lublin Voivodeship) and Staivka (Ukraine, Lviv Region, Chervonograd District of the Belz Community), separated by state borders.
Therefore, on August 28, the Days of Good Neighborhood celebration took place in the village of Staivka, which borders the Polish village of Korchmyn.
Residents of the Korchiv Starostyn district presented a loaf of bread to the representative of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Adamek, according to the good Ukrainian tradition, as a sign of good neighborly relations.
In addition, the participants of the event laid flowers at the graves of the residents of Lisnychivka between the villages of Korchmyn and Makhnuvek, who died in March 1944, near the village of Staivka on the territory of Ukraine.
Government representatives, parishioners and guests of the event prayed for an end to the war and peace in Ukraine.
In addition, within the framework of the event, participants and guests had the opportunity to visit an exhibition of ethnic Ukrainian embroidery, a painting exhibition by the artist Stepan Ivaseik, and various photo zones located around the vacation spot.
Also, the State Historical and Cultural Reserve in the city of Belza organized a fair during which the participants of the prayer event could participate in the collection of funds for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Among the guests of the event: Volodymyr Kateryna, Deputy Head of the Chervonograd RVA, Vasyl Petryk, Head of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Lviv Regional Government, Ivan Shchurko, Oleg Fenchyn, members of the Lviv Regional Council, Oksana Bereza, head of the Belz community, Andrzej Adamek, head of the Belzhets commune.
