On Saturday, November 19, the presentation of the first book of the upcoming two-volume work of the Hero of Ukraine Taras Matviyev “My Thoughts” will take place. Time and place: 14:00, Soldier’s House on Taras Bobanych Street.
This is the eighth presentation of the book. There have already been several meetings with readers in Hero’s native Zhydachiv Oblast, as well as in Khodorov, Lviv, Lutsk, in his small homeland – in Lyubeshov, Polis, in Yavoriv Oblast.
Taras Matviyiv is a journalist, public figure, military man and a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism of the Ivan Franko National University. Died on July 10, 2020, during enemy mortar shelling of the positions of the United Forces near Troitsky, in the Luhansk region.
For his personal courage and selfless service to the Ukrainian people, Taras Matviiv was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Golden Star order.
On the day of the second anniversary of Taras’s death, the book “My Thoughts” was published rhythmic prose”. Mother Valentyna Matviyev became the literary editor and compiler of the book.
“We, the parents, fulfilled this dream for him – as we knew how, as we felt, as we understood. But everyone who has already held this first swallow in their hands says that it is incredible, and that’s nice. I think they are telling the truth, because how could it be otherwise, when an incredible son’s soul and our incredible parental love are invested in her,” said Valentina Matviyev.

We would like to remind you that in order to honor the Hero, as well as to promote the development of quality journalism, the Lviv OVA launched this year the regional contest of journalistic works named after Taras Matviyev.
