The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the transfer of the property complex of the state enterprise “Lviv Experimental Enterprise for Mobility Devices and Prosthetics” to the ownership of the Lviv city community.
Previously, the enterprise specialized in producing prosthetics, wheelchairs, and orthopedic footwear. However, it ceased operations due to financial difficulties.
Back in 2023, the Lviv City Council approved the integration of the factory into the structure of the First Medical Association of Lviv, particularly as part of the “Unbroken” rehabilitation center. A recovery plan includes funding between 350 to 390 million UAH sourced from the city budget, the medical association, charitable contributions, and grants.
Once restored, the factory will operate with two key production lines:
-
standardized prosthetic component manufacturing;
-
custom-made socket systems for prosthetics.
The Lviv facility aims to produce 50 to 80 prosthetics per month. Additionally, branches in Lutsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Mukachevo are expected to manufacture 15 to 20 units each per month.
