The suspect, whose criminal actions resulted in the removal of an asphalt site with an area of almost 9,000 square meters from the communal property of the Zhovkiv City Council, was exposed by the operatives of the Office for Countering Cybercrimes in the Lviv Region together with the investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural guidance of the Zhovkiv District Prosecutor’s Office .
As the law enforcement officers established, a 23-year-old resident of Lviv, with the aim of illegally taking possession of an asphalt site located in one of the villages of the Lviv district, provided false documents to the state registrar of the village council, on the basis of which he entered inaccurate information about ownership in the State Register of Property Rights on immovable property and conducted state registration of the right to private ownership of this property.
As a result, the site with an area of almost 9,000 square meters was removed from the communal property of the Zhovkiv City Council and became the property of the intruder. In this way, the community suffered damages in the amount of about 9.5 million hryvnias.
The investigators informed the Lviv resident that he was suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 4 of Article 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to twelve years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
According to the court’s decision, the site was returned to the communal property of the Zhovkiv City Council.
