Operatives of the Lviv border detachment, together with law enforcement officers, exposed an intruder who helped compatriots to illegally cross the border
Law enforcement officers established that a 21-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk provided men of draft age with documents that give them the right to cross the state border during the legal regime of martial law. In order to implement the illegal transfer service, the “businessman” produced military registration documents for his “clients”. For the status of unfit for military service, the perpetrator received 5,500 euros per person.
Law enforcement officers detained the organizer of illegal activity in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine after receiving the money. Police investigators informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under part 3 of Art. 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The question of choosing a person involved in a preventive measure is being resolved.
Law enforcement officers are identifying all those involved in the organization of an illegal channel for transporting conscripts across the border.
