$ 6,000 for illegal border crossing by men of military age – a group of people suspected in Lviv
Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a group of persons suspected of organizing the illegal transportation of conscripts across the state border was exposed and reported (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, three citizens organized a scheme of illegal transportation across the border of men of military age to the Republic of Poland. To do this, the residents of Lviv for 6,000 US dollars ensured the inclusion of a conscript man in the information database “Way”, which allows unimpeded travel abroad in wartime.
Two defendants were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine upon receipt of USD 6,000. Measures are being taken against the third defendant to declare the latter wanted.
The pre-trial investigation is underway, the issue of choosing a measure of restraint in the form of detention is being resolved.
Detection of criminal activity was carried out by the prosecutor’s office together with officers of the USB of Ukraine in Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proved in a lawful manner and a conviction is established by a court.
