The traffic accident happened on October 30, around 6:10 p.m., on the Peremyshlyany-Rohatyn highway near the village of Bryukhovychi, Lviv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Skoda Fabia car, a 43-year-old local resident, hit two residents of the area: a 65-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man.
The elderly woman died at the scene of the accident, and the elderly man was injured and hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
