As the employees of the Sambir district police department established, the conflict between the men arose during the drinking of spirits. The attacker first stabbed his friend with a knife, and then strangled him with an electric cable.
The police received a report about the body of a man with signs of violent death found in a dormitory located in one of the villages of the Sambir district on January 14 at 5:40 p.m.
An investigative and operative group, operatives of the criminal police and employees of other services of the Sambir district police department worked at the scene of the incident. The law enforcement officers established the identity of the deceased – he turned out to be a 26-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Stryi district, who worked as a security guard for the machinery of one of the agricultural enterprises.
Through the conducted measures, the police established that an employee of the deceased, a security guard of the same enterprise, also a 51-year-old resident of Stryi region, was involved in the murder.
At lunch time, when the men were drinking alcohol, a conflict arose between them, during which the older man first stabbed the younger man with a knife, and then strangled him with an electric cable.
The law enforcement officers established the whereabouts of the perpetrator and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the detainee about the suspicion of committing a crime stipulated in Part 1 of Article 115 (Intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to fifteen years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the perpetrator.
