Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 54-year-old man from Lviv was exposed and notified of suspicion. He is accused of organizing illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine and forging official documents (Part 3 of Article 332, Part 3 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspect contributed to the illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine during martial law. For a monetary reward, he produced and later sold a package of fictitious documents to a conscript. In particular, a certificate from the examination report by the medical and social expert commission and a pension certificate.
The latter contained notoriously unreliable information about obtaining the corresponding disability group. This gave the man the right to cross the border without hindrance.
He estimated his services at $500 per package of documents. The suspect set up a “workshop” for the production of fakes at his home.
As a result of the searches, a device for making seals, seals, printers, laptops and other physical evidence were seized.
Investigations are ongoing, other involved persons are being identified.
At the prosecutor’s request, the court ordered the suspect to be remanded in custody.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region based on the materials of the Lviv Directorate of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
