23-year-old and 22-year-old residents of the Zolochiv district and a 20-year-old man from Lviv were found guilty of intentional murder (paragraphs 1, 9, 12, part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) following a public indictment by the prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. Residents of Zolochiv Oblast were also convicted of using funds obtained from the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs, illegal sale of narcotic drugs (part 2 of article 306, part 2 of article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), one of them was charged with involvement of a minor in illegal activity (part 1 Article 304 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
They were sentenced to 15 and 13 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property and 10 years of imprisonment, respectively.
Prosecutors proved in court that in 2020 in Zolochiv Oblast, the accused beat a minor boy and his girlfriend to death with a bat. After that, their bodies were burned and buried in the forest.
It was established that the accused were engaged in the sale of cannabis using Telegram channels, making bookmarks. Before this, they repeatedly involved the victim.
However, later on, a conflict occurred between the co-conspirators due to the fact that the minor allegedly appropriated narcotics. For this, the participants decided to “deal with” him and offered to meet. However, the boy did not come to the meeting alone, but with his girlfriend, which changed the plan of the massacre.
The defendants will remain in custody until the verdict becomes final.
