In Lviv, control is being tightened on adherence to urban improvement regulations, and entrepreneurs occupying public spaces without permission, particularly in Rynok Square, will face fines. Violations will be documented by inspectors, who will then issue directives to business owners.
A complaint was found on social media regarding the blocking of a pavement near one of the establishments in Rynok Square, where bollards hindered pedestrian access. Residents who complained received a response that the area belonged to the establishment. The Halytsky District Administration responded promptly, but the mentioned elements were not found on-site.
Inspectors from the “Administrative and Technical Management” Municipal Enterprise will conduct regular inspections, and if violations are recorded, the businessman will be issued a directive and fined. Additionally, according to the Lviv City Council, the cultural heritage protection office fined the establishment owner 340,000 hryvnias for installing displays without permission.
The city council emphasises that any unauthorised installation of obstructions in public spaces is a violation that entails administrative consequences. Streets, pavements, and squares should remain accessible to all residents.
