Security cameras of Bezpechna Lvivshchyna helped law enforcement officers quickly solve the crime. Perpetrators face up to ten years in prison.
On February 16, around 5:30 p.m., the police received a report from a 52-year-old man from Lviv that unknown persons had beaten and robbed him in the waiting room of a suburban train station in Lviv.
Operatives of the criminal police and investigators of police department No. 1 of Lviv district police department No. 2 immediately arrived at the scene of the incident. According to the law enforcement officers, two unknown persons injured the victim, took his mobile phone, documents and bank cards, and then fled.
After studying the video from the surveillance cameras, the law enforcement officers found that two brothers, repeatedly convicted Lviv residents aged 24 and 26, were involved in the crime, and also established their whereabouts.
Physical evidence was taken from them.
The perpetrators were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Art. 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the detainee is being resolved.
