Cyclist Injured in Lviv After Being Hit by Car
The traffic accident occurred on May 2 around 5:30 PM on Shevchenko Street.
Details of the Accident
Preliminarily, law enforcement officers determined that the driver of a Mini Cooper, a 34-year-old resident of Lviv, hit the cyclist, a 15-year-old resident of Lviv. As a result of the collision, the boy sustained bodily injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Criminal Proceedings
An investigation was opened regarding the case under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty under the article includes up to three years of restricted freedom, coupled with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the event.
