At the Ukrainian-Polish border, a service dog of the border guards helped detect a narcotic potion in a traveler.
Yesterday evening, the regular bus “Kyiv-Swinoujscie” arrived at the checkpoint “Krakowec” for departure to Poland. During the check of passengers, a service dog reacted to a 68-year-old native of Kirovohrad region.
The person was invited for an additional interview and verification. Subsequently, border guards together with customs officers found two polyethylene packages with a substance of gray-green origin, probably marijuana. The packages were under the man’s outer clothing and were attached to his body. The total weight of the rolls was about half a kilogram.
Employees of the National Police were informed of this fact. Liability for this offense is provided for in Art. 309 of the Criminal Code (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation or forwarding of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues without the purpose of sale).
The man never made it to Poland, the border guards handed him over to representatives of the competent authorities.
