On March 9, hotline 102 received a report that a murder was likely in one of the houses in the town of Yavoriv. An investigative task force, criminal police operatives and employees of other services of the Yavoriv District Police Department immediately left for this address.
At the scene, police found the body of a 32-year-old local resident with signs of violent death. As doctors later found out, the death was caused by stab wounds, in particular in the chest.
Police also found that at about 1.30 at night, while drinking alcohol, the victim had a conflict with his 42-year-old brother, also a resident of Yavoriv, during which the elder stabbed the younger several times.
Militiamen detained the malefactor in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the court will soon choose a measure of restraint for him.
Investigators informed the detainee about the suspicion of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 115 (Premeditated Murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of seven to fifteen years.
