The court satisfied the lawsuit of the head of the Pustomytov district prosecutor’s office to declare the company’s inactivity illegal and the obligation to bring the civil defense protective structure into proper technical condition and readiness to shelter the population.
Prosecutors have established that in one of the villages near Lviv, in an apartment building, there is an anti-radiation shelter with an area of almost 50 square meters. It can accommodate 50 people. However, the balancer – one of the state-owned enterprises – did not ensure that the protective structure was brought into a usable condition. Accordingly, it makes it impossible to use the shelter as intended.
It should be noted that this storage facility was supposed to protect workers and their family members.
The Lviv District Administrative Court supported the validity of the prosecutor’s demands.
After the decision enters into force, the prosecutor’s office will ensure its actual implementation.
