Machinist, seamstress, baker: who now work for those who found refuge in the Lviv region

From the beginning of the war until today, 739 jobseekers have applied to employment centers and branches of the regional employment center. Only 10% of them have the official status of internally displaced persons, ie they have already registered with the Social Security Administration.

According to the Lviv Regional Employment Center, more than 60% were residents of Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kyiv regions and the capital of Ukraine. 74 migrants were provided with jobs.

The largest number – 22 people – started working at the direction of the Lviv City Employment Center, 13 helped to find employment specialists Zhydachiv district branch LOCZ, 8 provided work specialists Stryi City District Employment Center, 4 more involved in productive employment in Novoyavorivska and Novoyavorivka -Buzka district branches of LOCZ.

Who do those who have found refuge in the Lviv region now work for?

The range of vacancies suitable for IDPs is diverse. Many people started working in industrial enterprises and now work in the rear as operators of automatic and semi-automatic machines and installations, insulators, plumbers, woodworking machine operators, automated line drivers, locksmith-repairman, woodworker, tiler, tiler , runner, electric gas welder, site electrician, etc.

IDPs have also joined the garment industry by becoming seamstresses, cutters or cutters. Some have become part of the staff of service establishments and work as a grocer, cashier, bartender, cook, confectioner, baker, picker, office cleaner or janitor.

Some migrants work in post offices. Today they are postmen or sorters of postal items. 4 aesculapians were also lucky enough to find a job: an ultrasound doctor, a radiologist, an anesthesiologist, and a nurse. There are also those who have held the positions of psychologist, practical psychologist, inspector, manager (manager) of sales or supply, engineer for the reproduction of natural ecosystems, storekeeper, farm manager, personnel inspector. And some, having moved to the Lviv region, continued to work as a driver of motor vehicles, a gas station operator, a duty officer of the regime, a guard, etc.

When looking for work, employment service specialists are guided by the provisions of Article 46 of the Law of Ukraine “On Employment”. According to her, work corresponding to education, profession (specialty), qualification of a person taking into account the availability of transport services established by the decision of the local state administration, the executive body of the relevant council is considered acceptable for the unemployed.

Remuneration must not be lower than the salary of such a person at the last place of work, taking into account the average level of wages in the region last month, where the person is registered as unemployed. The offer of acceptable work takes into account the duration of work in the profession (specialty), qualifications, experience, duration of unemployment, as well as the needs of the labor market.
