In January-October of this year, more than 1,280 residents of Lviv Oblast were involved in temporary employment, of which more than 480 performed public and other works of a temporary nature, and almost 800 were socially useful.
Clients of the employment service, who volunteered to participate in public works, accompanied people with visual disabilities, provided assistance to combatants and their families, and carried out work on the repair of social facilities.
During the performance of socially useful works, the unemployed made camouflage nets for the needs of the army, kept the protective structures of civil protection in readiness, engaged in the equipment of ground or underground premises for the simplest shelters, helped wounded servicemen to overcome various difficulties in order to return to a full-fledged life.
We would like to remind you that the amount of earnings for the performance of socially useful works for a full month worked since November ts. increased from UAH 6,700 to UAH 10,050. Thanks to the organization of temporary employment in the united territorial communities, it is possible to perform the necessary work by attracting the unemployed to them, and to save one’s own money, since up to 50% of the costs for their implementation are reimbursed by the employment service. Employers who organize public works have the opportunity to use additional labor resources without diverting the main staff to auxiliary work, to assess the competence of temporary workers, and in the future to fill permanent jobs or to form a high-quality personnel reserve.
Participating in temporary jobs is also beneficial for the unemployed: this time is counted towards the insurance period, during the period of searching for a permanent job, they have an income, enjoy social benefits and guarantees provided by labor legislation, feel like full-fledged members of society, and sometimes remain working on a permanent basis.
