In Lviv, 55 percent of advertising spaces are being dismantled

On November 11, at a meeting of the executive committee of the LMR, a scheme for placing advertising materials on the territory of Lviv was approved. According to it, the number of advertising spaces in the city will be reduced by 55%.

The approved scheme was the result of joint efforts of the largest operators of the advertising market, KP “Administrative and Technical Management” and the Department of Economic Development of the LMR.

“During the year, we worked out agreements and those measures that will allow us to significantly reduce the placement of outdoor advertising in Lviv. Therefore, today we are approving the scheme of placement of advertising means, according to which the dismantling of 55% of advertising surfaces (in particular, the size of 3×6 m and more) is foreseen. We also intend to generally reduce the size of the planes themselves by July 1, 2024 to the Euro format – no more than 7.5 m2.

Thus, we will have about 860 of the 1966 largest advertising structures, which will be replaced by the Euro format by the middle of 2024. Accordingly, 1080 will be dismantled altogether. By the way, as of today, we have already dismantled about 280 of these structures,” said Iryna Kulinych, head of the Department of Economic Development.

Also, the decision of the executive committee stipulates that in the event that the tenants of structures delay payment for more than 3 months, the permits will be canceled and the structures will be dismantled.

In the future, a similar decision is planned to be applied to the annexed communities.
