The amount of financing is almost doubled – from 185 million to 380 million hryvnias.
The number of potential projects to be co-financed has also increased to 20 for the expansion of elevator capacity for grain storage and drying.
This was announced by the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Lviv Regional State Administration with reference to the USAID Program for Agrarian and Rural Development (AGRO).
The project is aimed at expanding the access of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to services for finishing, drying and storing grain at elevators, as well as increasing the volume and duration of storage of grain and technical crops.
This will allow grain market participants to compensate for the lack of capacity that arose due to limited exports and complicated logistics.
It is assumed that the funds of the sub-grant will be directed to:
purchase of grain processing, drying and storage equipment.
purchase of laboratory equipment for determining quality indicators of grain.
It is expected that the duration of sub-grants under the sub-grant agreement will not exceed 2 years.
“Thanks to such AGRO Projects, the profitability of the agricultural sector is ensured and the economic development of rural communities is accelerated, which is extremely important for the purposes of social, economic growth and recovery of Ukraine in the conditions of Russian aggression. Since USAID AGRO doubles the co-financing of elevator capacity expansion projects and will provide 380 million hryvnias for 20 projects, there is an opportunity to submit an application to those agro-producers of Lviv Region who planned to do so within the framework of the first stage, but, under certain circumstances, did not have time to submit an application,” she emphasized Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Lviv Regional State Administration Tetyana Hetman.
