In January-November of this year, 23,000 unemployed people used the intermediary services of the Lviv Regional Employment Service to find a job, which is 42.8% less than in the same period last year. 14,500 people are employed, including 10,000 unemployed.
1,445 residents of Lviv Oblast were involved in temporary employment, of which 547 performed public and other temporary works, 898 were socially useful.
At the direction of the employment service, 2,500 unemployed people underwent professional training or retraining. The school was organized according to relevant professions such as an electric gas welder, a hairdresser, a manicurist, a cashier of a trading hall, an agricultural (forestry) tractor-machinist, a seamstress, a mechanic repairing wheeled vehicles, a tram driver, a boiler plant operator, a seller of food products, etc.
Vouchers for maintaining competitiveness in the labor market were received by 1,303 people. “Psychology”, “secondary education (by specialization)”, “social work” dominated among the specialties in which residents of the region and immigrants decided to improve their professional competence. In terms of labor professions, the courses of forklift drivers, cooks, and woodworking machine operators were in the greatest demand.
During January-November, 6.4 thousand economic entities entrusted the search for potential employees to the employment service, from which information was received about the availability of 32.2 thousand free jobs and vacant positions.
In the first days of December last year, 3,300 unemployed people needed help in finding employment (2,400 more than last year). The job database contained 10,100 job offers, of which 9,000 were announced by local employers, and 1,100 were collected from other sources. The average salary, indicated in vacancies open as of December 1, 2023, was UAH 12.9 thousand, while at this time last year, employers offered UAH 10.2 thousand for the job.
In the region, there are an average of 3 vacancies for every two unemployed people looking for work through the employment service.
