Today, April 27, the industry forum “Ecotransformation of subsoil use-2023: legislation, solutions, best practices” started in Lviv. More than 400 participants from all over Ukraine joined it – live and online. In particular, government representatives, lawyers, land surveyors, managers and specialists of local self-government bodies responsible for environmental issues, ecologists, business representatives. Andriy Godyk, the first deputy head of the Lviv OVA, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.
“The mining industry has always been strategically important for our state, in the conditions of a full-scale war, its importance only increases – because in addition to the military front, we must maintain the economic and energy rear. Already today, the authorities and conscious citizens must think about how to be competitive in the future – to create an ecological environment that will meet all international norms and standards. For this, in addition to modernization, technological changes, and ensuring the transparency of the industry, we must find a balance between economic expediency and preservation of the environment. I am sincerely convinced that this forum is the place where everyone can express their ideas, exchange experiences, and develop new visions for our state to be economically stable and “green,” he emphasized.
The forum consists of several panel discussions. Speakers will discuss legislative, tax, environmental aspects of subsoil use, outline practical advice that will be useful for managers of environmentally conscious enterprises and other interested persons.
The event was organized by the Association of Environmental Professionals “PAEW”, the Office of Sustainable Solutions together with the National Association of Extractive Industry, the Association of Gas Production Companies of Ukraine with the support of the Zahidnadraservice Group, the Geological Investment Group.
