Since the beginning of the year, almost 700 people with disabilities have been provided with jobs in Lviv Oblast

In January-November of this year, 695 local residents with disabilities found work with the assistance of specialists of the Lviv Regional Employment Service. Among them, 41.4% are residents of rural areas, 42.7% are women, 14.4% are young people under the age of 35, and 5.0% are immigrants who came from areas of active hostilities or temporarily occupied territory.

“Clients with special needs are employed for various vacancies. However, the work offered to them must comply with the recommendations of the MSEK and the individual rehabilitation program. If the job seeker is truly a high-class specialist and an expert in his field, his physical characteristics do not prevent successful employment, says Vasyl Barilyuk, director of the Lviv Center for Occupational Safety and Health. – This is evidenced by the facts: with the help of the employment service, former unemployed people with disabilities work as managers, managers, accountants, administrators, lawyers, teachers, civil service specialists, teacher assistants, sellers, cashiers, nurses, cooks, locksmiths-repairmen, boiler plant operators, drivers, operators of gas stations, cleaners of office premises, auxiliary workers, security guards, watchmen.

In order to increase the level of competitiveness on the labor market, the regional employment service organizes professional training, retraining and advanced training for the unemployed, in particular for persons with disabilities, including through internships. In January-November of this year, almost 240 unemployed people with special needs increased their level of professional competence.

In addition, career guidance services are provided to job seekers so that they combine their own abilities and opportunities with the personnel needs of employers, determine the sphere of the economy where they can fully realize their potential. 3,165 people with disabilities are covered by such services.
