Residents of Lviv Oblast will be able to exchange old incandescent lamps for energy-saving ones

The exchange mechanism is currently being tested in the Lviv region, but a full-fledged program will soon be introduced.

In Ukraine, the program of exchanging old incandescent lamps for energy-saving LED lamps has begun. Beta mode is currently being tested in Lviv and several other large cities of Ukraine. Later, the program will be extended to the rest of the regions, so that soon everyone can use the new service.

The initiative belongs to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. The goal is to reduce the deficit of electricity in the energy system. Switching to LED lamps will reduce energy consumption by 7-10% at peak times.

“As a result of massive missile strikes, the energy system of Ukraine suffered significant losses. Power engineers are doing everything possible to restore electricity supply to every home as soon as possible. The exchange program initiated by the President will allow to significantly reduce the load on the general energy system in the country. Each of us can contribute to restoring the power grid. About 30 million LED lamps will be financed by the European Commission. More than a million such lamps were planned for the Lviv region. – Maksym Kozytskyi, the head of the Lviv OVA, said.

In normal mode, the project is planned to be launched at the end of January – beginning of February.

The program will work according to the following algorithm: a person brings 5 working incandescent lamps to the branch of “Ukrposhta”, where they exchange them for energy-saving ones. The exchange will take place in two ways.

The first is through registration in “Dia”. Registration for the beta test of the “Exchange of light bulbs” service has started on the portal. In the application, you must fill in information about yourself. The registration form is currently closed because the maximum number of participants has been reached, but a new form will be launched soon.

Pre-registration in “Diya” guarantees that you will be able to exchange your old light bulbs, because a reserve is prepared for your application.

The second is to come to the Ukrposhta branch in person. You should have your passport, identification code and 5 light bulbs with you. You can make an exchange only once.

The received incandescent lamps are disposed of.
