In the past day, rescue services in Lviv Region responded to nine fires. Notably, four of these were caused by dry grass ignitions, highlighting the seriousness of careless handling of fire among the population.
Firefighting teams managed to save three buildings and one vehicle, which may indicate the rapid spread of flames and potential threat to citizens’ property. The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region emphasizes the importance of adhering to fire safety rules, specifically:
- Caution with open flames.
- No smoking in unauthorized places, especially in bed.
- Monitoring electrical networks and equipment functioning.
- Cleaning chimneys and regular maintenance of heating devices.
- Ensuring no electrical appliances are left unattended when in use.
Moreover, intentionally setting dry grass on fire is considered a legal violation with subsequent fines: from 3,060 UAH to 6,120 UAH for citizens and from 15,300 UAH to 21,420 UAH for officials. Detection and counteraction of such acts are crucial components of maintaining environmental safety and public health.
