On September 20, at 02:54, the Rescue Service “101” received a report from the police that in the forest area near the village of A local resident, born in 2012, got lost in Boratyn, Zolochiv district.
As it became known, on September 19, around 18:00, the girl left the house. Later, the child called his parents that he got lost in the forest near their village. After that, the phone connection with the child was cut off. Concerned parents tried to find their daughter on their own at first, but when they realized that their efforts were futile, they turned to the emergency services for help.
Police officers, forestry workers, local residents and, of course, rescuers were involved in the search for the child. In particular, the rescuers of the city of Brody, the mountain search and rescue department, the search and rescue canine department, as well as the operative group of the Zolochiv district administration.
The search area was divided into squares, which were examined by search and rescue teams. So, in one of the groups, a search dog, Jean, worked. Rescuers also used a drone for the search.
In the morning, the child was able to get in touch again. This helped orient specialists in which square to search. The child’s phone was almost discharged. Therefore, the nearest search party was sent to the approximate location of the girl. Using the sound and light signals of a rescue vehicle, the child was found. The girl did not need medical help.
Police took the tired but unharmed child to his parents.
12 rescuers, a search dog and 4 pieces of equipment were involved in the search and rescue operations.
