Another modern mental health center opened in the 1st city polyclinic of Lviv on the street. Rymlyanina, 2. It is here that residents – both adults and children – can receive help from specialists. This is the third mental health center that was opened with grant funds in the city polyclinic, and the fifth overall in the city’s medical institutions.

“Our goal is for every hospital and polyclinic to have such centers. Today, most citizens of our country are affected by the war, and very often they are afraid to admit that they need help. Therefore, if the patient has communication with the family doctor and the doctor feels the need, he refers to the appropriate specialists who can help the person quite simply, through language and drawing. And here, in this center, children will also be helped.

I am pleased that there is cooperation with our artists, because in every office there are works of modern art. I hope that this great cooperation that we have today with the Academy of Arts in building the NEZLAMNI rehabilitation ecosystem will bear fruit. A big thank you to our partners who helped make it happen,” Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said during the opening.

The uniqueness of the mental health center is that it provides psychosocial services on a free basis, taking into account all the needs of people: doctors work with both adults and children, from the age of three, married couples and the elderly.

The center was opened on the initiative of the city health department in partnership with the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Mental Health for Ukraine” (МН4U) with grant funds.

As noted by Heiko Königstein, the leader of the MH4U project, this involves cooperation in several areas: the legislative and regulatory framework and the provision of the latest services, improving public awareness of mental health. “It is also the provision of emergency psychological assistance. And today we are starting another direction – work in the field of providing supported housing for people with mental health problems,” he added.

The head of the Mental Health Center, Iryna Hryhorash, emphasizes that you should not be ashamed to take care of your health. After all, now, due to constant worries and stress, anxiety disorders, which are manifested by phobias, panic attacks and sleep disorders, have increased significantly.

“Both residents of the city and internally displaced Ukrainians can receive quality medical care in comfortable conditions. This includes psychotherapy, psychological counseling, and the help of a speech therapist. All these services are available to all residents,” says Iryna Hryhorash.

In particular, the center helps with such problems as: depressive states, fear, psychosomatic and psychotic disorders, aggression, post-traumatic stress disorder and acute stress reaction, anxiety disorders (phobias, panic attacks), eating disorders, bipolar disorder and others.

In August 2022, renovation work began on the premises of the first floor: the offices of the center, the hall, corridors, the sanitary block and the registry office, with a total area of 155 m2. The cost of repairs and furnishing of the premises is UAH 2.5 million.

You can make an appointment by calling the following telephone numbers: registry office – 2756947; 0675223132; the phone number of the mental health center is 0671070436. You can apply with a doctor’s referral, on the recommendation of a social services specialist, or on your own.

We remind you that mental health centers are already operating: in the polyclinic of the St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital on St. Orlyka, in the 5th hospital on the street Chuprinka, in the 5th polyclinic on the street. Vyhovsky, in the 2nd polyclinic on the street Symonenka and at the base of the NEZLAMNI center on St. Mazepa In the near future, such centers will be operational in other city polyclinics.
