10 thousand lilies donated by the Netherlands planted in Lviv

10,000 lily bulbs donated by the Netherlands were planted in various locations in Lviv. Lilies of eight different varieties were planted in the city centre and in Stryi Park.

According to the Lviv City Council’s Department of Ecology and Natural Resources, the flowers will bloom in July and August.

“Most of the lilies were planted in iconic locations in the city centre, and almost half in Stryi Park.

We are sincerely grateful to Consul Emile de Sevren Jacquet and farmers Yuriy Petrychko and Aryan Smith for the bulbs. This is a really good support for the morale of Ukrainians,” the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv City Council emphasises.

Students of the Lviv State University of Life Safety and students of the Environmental College of LNAU joined in the planting of flowers. The Green City Municipal Company provided compost.

In previous years, the Netherlands donated 125,000 tulips of 10 different varieties to Lviv and an additional 100,000 bulbs for Stryi Park. The flowers were planted in more than 60 locations in the Lviv community: streets, squares, parks and the annexed communities.
