Today, the village of Ryasne-Ruske is 591 years old. To mark the occasion, the community is preparing for a big volunteer event with a charity auction, a traditional fair and performances. The event will take place on Sunday, March 10.
“The festive event is primarily timed to the date of the first written mention of Ryasne-Ruske in a document of King Vladyslav Jagail dated March 8, 1430.
Residents will honor the history of the founding of Ryasne-Ruske, and the funds raised at the charity event will be used to buy the most necessary things for the soldiers from Ryasne-Ruske and Pidriasne who are currently at the front – Taras Sal and Myron Kovalyk. In particular, spare parts for military vehicles and radios.
It has become a good tradition in the Lviv community to celebrate the first historical mention of their settlement in the format of charity and volunteer events,” the Department of Urban Agglomeration of Lviv City Council said.
As a reminder, the auction will feature several exclusive lots. Local resident and volunteer soldier Petro Buriak has prepared paintings and shell tubes. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man volunteered to defend Ukraine. During a combat mission, he was hit by an anti-tank mine. The defender lost two legs and a hand. Today Petro Buriak is actively involved in charity work and will come to the auction to support the community and his comrades-in-arms.
Among the lots will be an author’s icon, which was painted especially for the volunteer event by the famous Ukrainian icon painter Lev Skop. Shell casings will also be sold. They were painted by students of a local lyceum. There will also be exclusive products from local craftswomen and lots from singer Zinoviy Guchko, who will come to greet the community.
