Day of the State Anthem of Ukraine: Patriotic Flashmob in Vocational Education of Drohobych

On March 10, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the State Anthem, which is an important symbol of the nation’s struggle and unity. In the present time of war, its significance becomes particularly important, highlighting our fight for freedom and independence.

In the vocational education institutions in the Drohobych community, a patriotic flashmob has been organized. Students of technical schools and colleges perform the anthem throughout the day. This initiative was highlighted by Oleksandra Pashko, the head of the family and youth department, noting that the videos of the performances will be published on the department’s Facebook page to demonstrate the community’s patriotic spirit.

The history of the anthem begins in 1862 thanks to the poet Pavlo Chubynsky and composer Mykhailo Verbytsky. Their work ‘Ukraine Has Not Yet Perished’ became a symbol of national awakening. It was first publicly performed on March 10, 1865, in Peremyshl and was officially approved as the national anthem of Ukraine on January 15, 1992.
