Iryna Ivanyshyn has become the first woman to head Lvivelectrotrans in nearly 132 years of its existence. She was introduced by Lviv’s Mayor Andriy Sadovyi during an administrative meeting. Ivanyshyn has been with the company for 14 years, previously serving as Deputy Director for International Projects and Development.
During her tenure, she coordinated the acquisition of 65 million euros from the EBRD and EIB for the modernisation of the company, which allowed for the renewal of the tram and trolleybus fleet, as well as the reconstruction of the depot. The Director of the Department of Urban Mobility, Oleh Zabarilo, noted that Ivanyshyn has a European approach that will contribute to the further development of the company.
Among her priorities in the new position, Ivanyshyn named ensuring quality transport services and the development of the company. She plans to implement digitalisation of processes and alternative energy sources, including the installation of solar panels. Continuing international cooperation and developing a growth strategy are also important.
Until now, “Lvivelectrotrans” was headed by Vasyl Petsukh, who is moving to the “Institute of Spatial Development”. The company operates 8 tram and 10 trolleybus routes, transporting 110,000 passengers daily. Currently, “Lvivelectrotrans” employs 1,240 people, 78 of whom are defending Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces.
