Next week in Lviv, preparations for the heating season will commence. One of the first stages will be the conduction of hydraulic tests of the heating networks, starting from 11th May. This is necessary to ensure the stability of heat supply under winter load conditions.
Plans include conducting hydraulic tests on the main heating networks from CHP-1 and ‘Northern’ plant — the largest sources of heat supply in the city. This allows for the inspection of pipes, identification of potential leaks, and timely repairs.
According to Oleksandr Odynets, director of Lvivteploenerho, special attention is paid to worn-out sections, as it is crucial in times of war to check and renew the networks. The hydraulic tests last about five days, during which the pressure in the pipes is temporarily increased to detect weak spots.
Additionally, from 11th May, hot water supply will be temporarily suspended in parts of the districts to carry out all necessary repair works. Restoration is planned from 17th June. This will help prevent unforeseen emergencies during the winter period.
