Lviv has additionally allocated UAH 99,573 in compensation for residents whose homes were damaged in the Russian attacks on 15 January and 24 March 2026. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
The relevant decision was adopted by the executive committee of the Lviv City Council. This time, financial assistance will be provided to 6 residents to reimburse the costs of restoring 9 damaged windows. Payments will be made to residents of the Halytskyi, Sykhivskyi and Frankivskyi districts. The largest compensation amount for a single home is UAH 36,000.
Taking this decision into account, following the missile strike of 15 January 2026, the city has already allocated UAH 248,800 in assistance to 16 residents. Compensation was provided for damage to 28 windows.
After the attack on 24 March 2026, the total amount of assistance stands at UAH 2.7 million. Compensation has been paid to 133 community residents for 239 damaged windows, 4 doors and 2 cases of flats being flooded.
“We are trying to respond as quickly as possible to people’s requests after the shelling. For many residents, it is not just about broken windows or damaged doors — it is the loss of a sense of security in their own home. That is why the city’s task is not to leave people to deal with these consequences on their own and to help restore their homes as quickly as possible,” said the head of the Social Protection Department, Tetiana Kolesnyk.
Financial assistance to residents is paid from the budget of the Lviv community within the framework of the Programme for Eliminating the Consequences of Emergencies caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. The funds can be used to pay for or partially reimburse the costs of installing or restoring damaged window structures, doors and other property.
In the summer of 2025, Lviv approved a new procedure for providing assistance to residents whose homes were damaged as a result of missile strikes or drone attacks. It provides for payments to residents of buildings damaged by blast waves, shrapnel or flooding after shelling, both for individual elements (for example, windows or doors) and for repairs to flats or roofs in private houses. An application for compensation must be submitted no later than 6 months after the shelling.
