Today, May 12, the first deputy head of Lviv OVA Andriy Godyk inspected the progress of works at the facility.
The project is implemented by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region within the framework of the Cross-Border Cooperation Program of the European Neighborhood Instrument. It is 90% financed by the EU. The total budget is 6 million euros.
The project received funds from the regional budget in 2021 and 2022, which were directed as co-financing for the reconstruction of 6 police stations, the purchase of machinery, equipment for patrol cars, new cars, surveillance cameras, etc.
For this year, co-financing in the amount of UAH 3.2 million is planned for the completion of the construction of the new building.
“We have to do everything possible so that residents, those who have found shelter here, guests of Lviv Oblast feel safe,” Andrii Godyk noted.
Also, the first deputy inspected the construction of a new canine kennel of the National Police for 50 service dogs, which is underway in Lviv. By the way, for the continuation of the construction of the canine center this year, the Lviv OVA allocated UAH 5 million of subvention funds.
“The four-legged partners of the police perform work in different directions: this includes the search for explosives and weapons, narcotics, dogs search for people and the bodies of the dead. In fact, this is preceded by the difficult preparation of the animals themselves and the colossal work of dog trainers, which does not stop. And for this there must be proper conditions. Military actions have shown us more than ever that security is a primary issue. In particular, in terms of strengthening the work of law enforcement agencies,” added Andriy Godyk.
