The Civil Protection Shelter Coalition for Ukraine has been joined by Slovakia, Greece, the Czech Republic and Austria. These countries will help enhance the protection of Ukraine’s civilian population from threatening impacts, as reported by Lviv’s State Emergency Service.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, noted that the Shelter Coalition has already achieved concrete results. It has analysed over a hundred protective structure projects and approved the construction of seven new shelters in regions that are regularly shelled: Sumy, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Kherson.
According to the data, this winter alone, Russia launched over 700 missiles and almost 19,000 drones at Ukraine. This underscores the importance of developing shelters, which remains a key task. Members of the coalition continue to work to strengthen the protection of the population.
