By the end of the year, six bus stops are to be equipped with barrier-free space. The list includes Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred Street in Rudne, Ivasyuk Street – Nezalezhnosti Street in Bryukhovychi, 23A Shevchenka Street in Dubliany, and 23, 7-19 Ivasyuk Street and 90 Halytska Street in Vynnyky. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
“If we are talking about inclusion, it means that the bus stop should be of high quality and accessible. It is about respect for people. Such stops are needed not only by people in wheelchairs, but also by those with prostheses, the elderly, and mothers with baby carriages. The city pays a lot of attention to this issue, as accessible bus stops are an integral part of the Accessibility Strategy for our community,” said Iryna Maruniak, Lviv City Council Commissioner for Accessibility.
