LKP “Lvivspetskomuntrans” urges citizens to sort garbage correctly. In particular, do not throw mixed waste into containers for organics. Such thoughtless disposal of garbage causes trouble for those who are engaged in its removal, processing or composting.
“Plastic, glass, paper and a lot of polyethylene are what our employees take out of the containers for organics every time. Solid household waste, plastic and other bulky waste quickly fill the container for organics. The result is that the playgrounds are overcrowded, and the accumulated organic waste smells unpleasant.
At organic waste reception sites, workers spend extra hours to sort garbage. This is all done manually. Waste in plastic bags is not suitable for compost,” the utility company emphasized.
Residents are reminded that containers for organics are not provided for other waste. They are strictly prohibited from throwing away:
– fabric and paper;
– glass and glass containers;
– solid household waste;
– plastic, PET, tetra-pak, polyethylene bags;
– fish, meat, dairy and fatty products.
LKP “Lvivspetskomuntrans” serves 237 garbage sites. All of them are equipped with containers for organics. A special vehicle with a hydroboard picks up such waste once every few days, according to the established schedule. Up to 30 tons of organics are exported per month.
