The Archangel Michael Park has commenced major renovations. The central pedestrian avenue will be the focal point of the works. All expenses are covered by the investor, according to the Department of Urban Development and Natural Resources of the Lviv City Council.
The park is located near Lviv’s bus station on Stryiska Street and serves as an important transit route for locals. However, the necessary infrastructure was lacking, prompting the start of the works. “We have started preparations to create a pathway that will connect Myklyosha Street with Stryiska and Vernadskogo Streets,” stated Taras Kubai, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Construction.
Workers have dismantled the old concrete slabs, and an on-site meeting has taken place. Contractors inspected areas for possible development of park infrastructure, emphasising the importance of preserving green spaces during the works.
The length of the future avenue is 515 metres with a width of 3 metres. The initial section will combine pedestrian and cycling infrastructure. The total cost of the works reaches 7 million UAH. This is only the first phase, which is planned to be completed by the end of summer.
