Planting of energy willow and poplar started in Drohobychska AH

Їх використовуватимуть як біопаливо для котелень

On the eve of the World Environment Day, the first batch of energy willow and poplar seedlings was planted in the Drohobych community. These crops will be used as biofuel for boiler houses, which will reduce the cost of producing a gigacalorie of heat compared to natural gas.

The planting was carried out jointly by Drohobychteploenergo, Tarkom Farm and the Department of Municipal Economy. The head of the community, Taras Kuchma, also joined the good initiative.

Today, the first batch of saplings is being planted, in the amount of almost 20 thousand pieces. The willow and poplar will grow on the land of the Tarkom farm within the village of Lishnya. The planting area is 1.5 hectares.

According to the company, energy willow is an unpretentious type of wood that reproduces easily and does not require special care. Therefore, land plots that are unsuitable for planting crops are suitable for its cultivation. The crop can be grown for 3 years.

Energy poplar was planted alongside it to analyze which crop is more suitable for growing for biofuel.

In the future, the number of seedlings is planned to increase in order to achieve maximum energy independence in the community.

Growing this type of wood will bring a number of benefits to the community. In particular, it will help to clean up land areas that are unsuitable for growing crops, reduce excessive watering of agricultural land and increase air oxygen saturation.

And the transition to renewable biofuels will reduce natural gas consumption in the Drohobych community. Setting up its own production of energy crop chips will further reduce the heat supply tariff for Drohobychteploenergo subscribers and improve the quality of service provided to consumers.

We remind you that the decision to grow energy willow in the community was declared in the Memorandum of Cooperation signed earlier between Drohobychteploenergo and Tarkom Farm.
