A new X-ray machine was installed in the updated X-ray room at the Skolivska Central Hospital

Funds for the purchase of the device were allocated from the regional budget.

Today, March 16, a new X-ray machine was installed in the updated X-ray room at Skolivska Central Hospital. Funds for the purchase of the Japanese-made FLEXAVISION device in the amount of 7.5 million hryvnias were allocated from the regional budget.

KNP “Skolivska CL” is the only hospital in the mountainous area of Stryi district, which provides specialized medical care 24 hours a day to 47,000 residents of the mountainous district, namely residents of three united territorial communities – Skolivska, Slavska and Kozivska.

Approximately 6,000 patients, both adults and children, are treated at the institution during the year. Also, people injured in road accidents and in the mountains are treated here. In total, every year the “Skolivska CL” CNP provides medical assistance to more than a thousand injured people who need high-quality X-ray examination.

Maksym Kozytskyi, head of Lviv OVA, emphasized the need for timely updating of medical equipment in hospitals.

“Quality medical care is a basic thing that allows you to preserve life and health, which is especially important in times of war. On the part of the region, we will do everything possible so that the staff of this hospital can be proud of their institution. Considering the mountainous area in which the medical facility is located, it is necessary to pay a lot of attention to the emergency department for quick and qualified examination and treatment. High-quality X-ray equipment is an element of emergency care, so special attention should be paid to it in particular. Thank you to all the doctors who stand firmly on the medical front in protecting the health of all Ukrainian defenders and civilians!” – emphasized the head of Lviv Oblast.

As reported by acting the head of the x-ray department of the hospital Nataliya Kamianka, this doctor had to work on devices manufactured in the 80s.

“The new device is equipped with a remote control system and is designed for three working positions: horizontal, vertical and at an angle. Within 10 seconds after the examination, the doctor can examine the image on the monitor, while this process took from 15 to 40 minutes on the old-style devices. On the new device, patients will be examined of the urinary, respiratory and bone-joint systems, as well as the gastrointestinal tract. One of the main advantages of the new device is the reduced amount of ionizing radiation during the examination, which is important for the health of patients,” Nataliya Kamianka summarized.
