Oleksandr thought that in order to get a bionic prosthesis, he would have to go abroad. But he was able to get a new hand at home, in Ukraine. Specialists of the NEZLAMNI rehabilitation center of the First Medical Association of Lviv established her defense.
Oleksandr is a 24-year-old defender from Kyiv Oblast, participated in the liberation of Chernihiv Oblast, fought enemies in the Zaporozhye region, and later in the Donetsk region. There he lost his right hand. On that day, together with his comrades, the defender went to liberate one of the villages near Siversk (Bakhmut district). The machine gun of the tank in which the soldiers were riding jammed. To recharge it, Oleksandr got out of the car. It was at that moment that an enemy mine hit the tank.
Oleksandr received multiple injuries: multiple fragmentary injuries to his side, broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a cut hand. First aid was provided by brothers. Then the wounded defender was taken to the hospital in Kramatorsk, where his limb was amputated. And then – a series of operations and months in the hospitals of Dnipro and Kyiv.
After completing the treatment, Oleksandr dreamed of a modern bionic prosthesis – this is the pinnacle of prosthetics technology. This allows, as far as possible, to return fine motor skills to the hand.
Specialists of the NEZLAMNI rehabilitation center installed such a prosthesis for the defender. The young man learned to control his bionic limb and has already returned to the front with it, because he wants to bring our victory closer every day. His wife and five-year-old son are waiting for him at home, for whom dad is already a superhero.
“My son was very happy when he saw this hand for the first time. He really likes superheroes from Marvel, and now I’m an iron man for him,” Oleksandr shared.
The defender received the bionic prosthesis thanks to the Renesas Electronics IC development company in Ukraine.
We will remind you that in the National Rehabilitation Center UNBROKEN on the basis of the First Medical Association of Lviv, 100 Ukrainians received free prostheses during the year. Among them, in particular, are the most modern bionic hand prostheses. Several soldiers who received prostheses have already returned to the front.
