The relatives of the Hero ask all those who care to join in signing a petition to the President of Ukraine to award the title of Hero of Ukraine (posthumously) to Andriy Mykolayovych Tsyapych, a serviceman, defender of Ukraine of the 2nd mortar division of the 2nd mortar platoon of the 2nd mortar battery of the 2nd mechanised battalion of the military unit A0222, no. 22/215090-ep.
Andrii Tsapych was only 22 years old. A native of Pozdymyr, the young man was trained as an electrician and immediately went to work. He earned his first car on his own at the age of 20 by travelling to the Netherlands.
There he worked in greenhouses where flowers were grown. He returned home and immediately found a job at a furniture company near Chervonohrad. He was not afraid of difficulties or hard work. He dreamed of buying an apartment and starting a family… On 15 January last year, he proposed to his girlfriend, whom he had been dating for over three years. The young man was already in military uniform… Andriy’s fiancée remembers all the details of this moment, which was to become the beginning of their young family…
Before the war, Andrii Tsiapych had not served in the army, he was called up for military service during mobilisation on 3 December 2022. He left with dignity. He was trained in Starychi, and from 25 February 2023, he fought side by side with his comrades in the Donetsk sector near Avdiivka. “Everyone was waiting for him at home, his family, friends and me… Unfortunately, we did not have time to get married, Andriy died on 10 December 2023…”
