Russia’s war against Ukraine has radically changed the lives of every Ukrainian. Men and women stood up to defend their homeland and repel the aggressor. The whole world saw that Ukraine is an unbreakable country that does not give up. Our soldiers demonstrate their courage, strength of spirit and patriotism every day, reclaiming every piece of our land.
Many Drohobych residents, including employees of local government and utility companies, are defending the state. One of them is Ruslan Kardash, an employee of Drohobychteploenergo, who received the Golden Cross on 13 October 2023.
Ruslan Kardash, a resident of Drohobych, was born on 20 July 1984 and graduated from school No. 16. Since 2004, he has been working as a labour protection engineer at Drohobychteploenergo.
In February 2023, he joined the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade to defend his homeland.
The Golden Cross badge is one of the decorations of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is awarded to private and non-commissioned officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their courage and successful performance of tasks during combat.
In addition to Ruslan, Oleg Gavdyak from Drohobych also received the Golden Cross award, and another resident of Kotermak, who is also currently defending the borders of our country, Andriy Burak, received the Cross of Valour award from the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
We are proud of our defenders and thank them for their courage and resilience in confronting the enemy.
