Marichka, Marusya, Volodymyrivna, with the call sign “Panther”
I can’t put candles on your photo, Marichka. I can’t. My hand does not rise. And my head does not accept that you are gone. I know you wouldn’t mind. It’s hard for us to accept and believe. It will be hard for all of us without you. Because you were a sunshine. Our battalion has lost a wonderful and bright person. But you will always be with us. We love you,” said the 63rd Battalion of the Chervonohrad TRO.
Maria Dykhtyar, a resident of Borok village and senior lieutenant of the medical service, was awarded the medal “For Saving a Life”
She is one of the first women volunteers who decided to leave everything behind in civilian life and go to serve to save Ukraine’s defenders in Donbas. She was prompted to take this step by the death of her friend in the Debaltseve “cauldron”, who died because there was no medical professional nearby. She was a participant in the ATO, and for three years she was the head of the medical service in the 25th separate motorised infantry battalion ‘Kyivska Rus’.
On 02 October, a resident of Borok village, Maria Volodymyrivna Dykhtyar, was awarded the Order “For Courage”, III class, by a Presidential Decree, for personal courage in the defence of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless performance of military duty.
In civilian life, Maria Vladimirovna works as a doctor. In the first days of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Maria Dykhtyar went back to work as a military medic, and now she serves in the active combat zone, saving wounded heroes every day.
