Today marks a year since the Velyki Mosty community lost its Defender — Roman Tsybak. A year filled with pain, sorrow, and gratitude.
The Life Path of Roman Tsybak
Roman was born in Velyki Mosty, studied here, worked, and built his life. He loved his family, his work, his hometown. But when the war came to our home, he did not stay indifferent. After the atrocities by the occupiers in Bucha and Irpin, he said: “Who will protect my daughters if not me?” and went to defend Ukraine.
Heroism and Memory
A soldier of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo, courageous, motivated, strong in spirit — this is how comrades knew Roman. He went through the hot spots, carried out combat missions, stood where it was hardest. And exactly a year ago, on February 16, 2024, near Chasiv Yar, his heart stopped beating…
He was buried with military honors in his hometown. Roman is survived by his mother, father, brother with family, and two little daughters…
His heroism will not be forgotten. His name will live in our hearts. His mission will be continued by those who stand in defense of Ukraine.
