Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Oleg Starchenko

On Thursday, March 23, Lviv will say goodbye to Oleg Starchenko, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero

 

Oleg Starchenko (April 5, 1989-March 17, 2023). A native of Lviv.
He studied at the secondary comprehensive school No. 64 of the I-III degrees of the city of Lviv (today – Lyceum “Grono” of the Lviv City Council). He graduated from the then Secondary Vocational and Technical School No. 26. After completing his studies, he completed military service in the city of Vasylkiv.

In peacetime, he mainly worked abroad, during the last period – at the wholesale market of agricultural products “Shuvar”. He led an active lifestyle.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi to defend the Motherland.

Oleg Starchenko is survived by a brother, sister, nieces and nephews.
