Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to three Heroes who defended Ukraine

On Tuesday, May 16, Lviv will say goodbye to three more Heroes. Andriy Maltsev, Volodymyr Nestor, Danylo Skobalo died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral of Andrii Maltsev and Volodymyr Nestor will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul (11 Teatralna St.), at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square.

Danylo Skobal’s funeral will begin at 2:15 p.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul (Tetralna St., 11), at 2:45 p.m. – city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square.

Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

 

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Andriy Maltsev (October 22, 1993-May 9, 2023) was born in Stryi, Lviv region.

Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 95 in Lviv. Received professional and technical education at the Separate Structural Unit “Technological Vocational College of the National Forestry University of Ukraine”.

After completing his studies, he worked at Foxtrot Limited Liability Company. In his spare time, he was fond of football and was a DJ.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian invaders, he decided to stand up for the defense of the Motherland and joined the ranks of the territorial defense. Defended the state as part of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the “West” regional administration of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed combat missions on the territory of Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.

Andrii Maltsev is survived by his mother, wife, two children and cousins.

 

Volodymyr Nestor (11.03.1994-09.05.2023) native of Lviv.

Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 99 of the city of Lviv. He received his education at the Lviv Institute of the Private Joint-Stock Company “Higher Educational Institution “Interregional Academy of Personnel Management”.

He devoted his free time to sports: he was fond of football, actively engaged in mixed martial arts. He adored children.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he went to war as a volunteer. He took part in the de-occupation of the Sumy Oblast, later carried out combat missions in the eastern direction in the ranks of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (formerly – SSO “Azov”).

Volodymyr Nestor is survived by his parents, sister, two nieces, goddaughter, brother-in-law, numerous friends and siblings.

 

Danylo Skobalo (June 25, 1996-May 8, 2023) from Lviv.

Studied at Lyceum No. 8 of the Lviv City Council. In 2015, he graduated from the Lviv Higher Vocational School of Restaurant Service and Tourism, acquired the profession of “cook, confectioner”.

After completing his studies, he worked as a chef in local establishments, including Atlas and DeLux. Subsequently, he worked in the restaurant sector in Warsaw, Gdańsk and Zakopane.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation returned to the Motherland. At first he joined the ranks of territorial defense. He was wounded while performing a combat mission, but returned to the front. Subsequently, he defended the state in the eastern direction as part of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (formerly – SSO “Azov”). He was proud of the fact that he defended the state side by side with like-minded people for the sake of the future of Ukraine.

Danylo Skobal is survived by his grandparents, parents, brother and family, aunts, uncles and godson.
