As previously established by the police, one of the drivers was in a state of intoxication, and the second felt sick behind the wheel
The traffic accident happened on July 31, around 9:15 p.m., near the village of Borynya, Sambir district. As previously established by the law enforcement officers, a 23-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district, driving an Audi A4 car on the Borinya – Boberka highway lost control and drove into a ditch.
As a result of the accident, the passenger of the car, a 19-year-old local resident, received bodily injuries and was hospitalized. During the medical examination, it was established that the driver was intoxicated.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of up to three years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of three to five years.
Also on this day, at around 9:30 a.m., a 57-year-old man from Lviv, driving a Porsche car, driving from Lviv to Stryi, on the Kyiv-Chop highway near the village of Krasiv, hit a bumper, drove into a ditch, as a result of which the car overturned on the roof As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver felt sick behind the wheel.
He, as well as his two female passengers, residents of Lviv aged 40 and 47, received injuries of varying severity and were hospitalized.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
Pre-trial investigations are ongoing. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the events.
